Becoming a classic and “most do Triathlon in Thailand” once again, we bring you these fantastic race options for your exciting experience. While many variations of the sport exist, triathlon, in its most popular form. With its endurance disciplines, you will be able to PROVE YOU CAN! pushing to achieve your best in swimming, cycling, and running.
The race itself takes in open water swim in the lovely waters of the Pattana main lake, followed by a stunning cycle course around an astonishing countryside view of the local landscape of Chonburi, before finishing off with a run around the Pattana Golf courses.

Please note on agreeing and signing up to the above event you have stated that you are medically fit to undertake such activity and take full responsibility for any loss or damage incurred during the event to yourself a third party or belonging. We as C55 events also wish to state on signing the document you are informing us/C55 Events that you have read and understood the below Rules & Regulations.
Please pay extra attention to our strict drafting rules as this will be enforced on the day ‘’Drafting is cheating’’
- This Race is open to all Athletes (aged 18 or older as of December 31st 2022) but not less than 17 years old from any country.
- Participants who are between 17 - 18 years old, at the time of the event, must provide a signed consent to participate from their parents or legal guardians.
- Each participant must recognize that the race requires a minimum level of training and that he/she must be medically fit to participate.
- Each participant also takes responsibility for the risks linked to such an event, including but not limited to, accidents with other participants, bad weather and road traffic conditions.
- The Organizers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries, to amend the Rules and Regulations without prior notification and to amend the racecourse without prior notification prior notice to participants.
By accepting terms and conditions, each participant takes full and complete responsibility in the case of an accident that could occur during the race.
TEAMS
- the number of participants per team is set at 3,
- To be considered a woman team, all the members should be female
- To be considered a man team, all the members should be man
- To be considered a mixed team, at least one of the members should be female
- Teams must inform, in writing, to the organiser of the names of competitors (swim, bike and run) at the time of their registration.
- Teams must inform, in writing, to the organiser of the names of the Team’s captain.
- The individual member of the Team winning the race, will not be considered the “Overall Race Winner”.
- Any protest that may occur, only the Team captain has the authority to do so.
- · In order to avoid any risk of accidents (remember roads are NOT closed) or conflict of interest, the teams and each of their members (supervisory staff, trainers, doctors, etc.) “competitors team vehicle” are strictly forbidden.
RULES AND REGULATIONS –
It is the participant’s responsibility to attend the race briefing, familiarize themselves with the rules & regulations, race flow and prearranged racecourses.
1. Athletes are required to follow the directions and instructions of all race officials and public authorities.
2. Course marshals shall have the authority to disqualify participants.
3. Medical personnel shall have ultimate and final authority to remove an athlete from the race, if the athlete is judged to be physically incapable of continuing the race without risk of serious injury or death. Medical transport of any athlete will result in a DNF (Did not finish).
4. Fraud, theft, abusive treatment of volunteers and other acts of poor sportsmanship are grounds for immediate disqualification and potential exclusion from C55 future Organizer’s sports events.
5. If an athlete decides to withdraw from the race at any time, it is the responsibility of the athlete to notify race officials. The participant will therefore not be ranked. (The Organizer will provide transportation back to the venue).
6. The Organizers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries.
7. The Organizers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without prior notification.
8. The Organizers reserve the right to amend the race course without prior notice to participants.
9. Participants who are less than 18 at the time of the event, but not less than 16 years old, must provide signed consent to participate from their parents or legal guardians.
10. Each participant recognizes that the race requires a minimum level of training and that it must be medically (physical and mentally) fit to participate.
11. In the event of inclement weather, the Organizers reserve the right to delay the start of the race or modify the course. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay, the Organizers reserve the right to cancel the race or any portion of it (swimming, bike or run) without any refund of registration fees.
12. Each participant must wear a race number at all times while on the course. Race numbers identify the official athletes in the race. Folding, cutting the race number, intentional alteration of any kind, or failure to wear the race number so that it is plainly visible is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification.
13. Each participant will be individually responsible for the repair and maintenance of their bike.
14. There will be mechanical support/service at the venue (spare parts replacements, will be pay by the participant). Each participant should however be prepared to handle any possible mechanical malfunction.
15. Participants are individually responsible for following the traffic laws of Thailand and are solely responsible for the consequences of any infractions. Cyclists riding in violation of traffic laws may be disqualified. At all times, contestants should remain on the left side of the road unless directed otherwise by race marshals-official-volunteers or police. While there will be traffic control and dozens of race marshals on the bike course, it is impossible to close the roads for the complete duration of the event. Therefore, at all times during the race, participants have to be aware that cars will be on the road and take all necessary safety precautions. Cyclists riding on the right side of the road, beyond the line dividing the lanes, will be disqualified and will be held responsible for any accident arising from it.
16. Foul language or other unsportsmanlike conduct directed at race officials, police, volunteers, medical personnel, rescues, spectators and other athletes is strictly forbidden and may result in disqualification.
17. Participants must wear proper triathlon/bicycle apparel (Athlete’s torso must be covered at all times) and during the entire race. Half Zip open is all right. Any athlete without TOP will result in a DNF (Did not finish).
18. The timekeeping will be carried out by an electronic timing system. All the participants (according to the category) will receive a timing device that includes a sensor, for timekeeping. This timing device will be used to control the race at various points on the route and to provide race timing for each participant. Loss or damage to this device will result in a 5000B fine.
19. Follow the prescribed course. It is the participant’s responsibility. Participants must cover the prearranged course in its entirety. If a participant must exit the course, they shall re-enter the course at the same point of departure before continuing.
20. Participants competing in the same race may assist each other as follows: nutrition and drinks, pumps, tires, inner tubes, and puncture repair kits. No outside assistance is allowed, except at the aid stations by race officials.
21. The participant accepts and agrees to the free use of his image captured in the form of photographs or video recording, and grants the Organizer loyalty-free license to use it in all fields of usage, including preservation and dissemination in any form and introduction to computer memory, used to promote and conduct Organizer’s events, providing sponsors and partners events to promote them in the context of participation in the event, posting and publishing in Organizer publications for promotional printed materials, in newspapers, social media, promotional VDOs, websites, communications TV and radio.
22. The Participant gives consent for their personal data included in the application, to be processed for the purposes of the recruitment process of the Organization.
23. All participants must sign the “Liability Waiver” before the race.
24. Triathlon is an environmentally friendly activity and litter is strictly forbidden. Not dispose of trash or equipment on the courses (except at aid stations or other designated trash-disposal points). Intentional or careless littering will result in a time penalty (5 mins) or disqualification.
25. In the case of disqualification, nor race results will be listed for disqualified participants.
SAFETY:
- All participants must be in good physical and mental condition.
- Race is not advised for people that have any medical conditions.
- All competitors must also inform the Medical Team of any illness or injury that occurs during or in conjunction with the event.
- By enrolling in the event, the participant declares that he consents to be provided first aid, perform other medical procedures and transport the victim to a safe place, medical and paramedical personnel acting on behalf of the organizer.
- Participant acknowledges that participation in a sporting event is associated with physical effort and entails the natural risk of accidents, injuries and physical injuries (including death), as well as damages and losses of property.
- The signing of a declaration of knowledge of the regulations means that the Participant has considered and assessed the scope and nature of the risks of participation in the event and takes part voluntarily at own risk.
- Triathlon and Duathlon
- The timing begins at the start of the race and officially ends when the last competitor crosses the finish line, before the cut-off.
- The ranking of the race is determined by the race control after the penalties have been considered. The competitor to cross the finish line in the shortest time minus any penalties is declared the winner, in their corresponding category.
- Race Control reserves the right to assess time for infractions not mentioned on this list.
- All competitors are requested and “must attend” the race briefing.
Race briefing will provide as details:
In the race schedule
- It is the participant’s responsibility to study and follow the prescribed course. Participants must cover the prearranged course in its entirety. If a participant must exit the course, they shall re-enter the course at the same point of departure before continuing.
- All participants must sign the “Liability Waiver” before the race.
SWIM SECTION:
- All Participants must make sure they go in the correct wave for their race.
- Each participant must wear the official race swim cap during the swim portion of the race.
- All participants must be numbered (body mark or sticker tattoo) before the start.
- No wetsuits, speed suits, fins, aqua socks, gloves, paddles or flotation devices, of any kind allowed, except for safety regulations.
- Swim goggles or face masks may be worn.
- No individual paddlers or escorts are allowed.
- Participants may accept assistance from any race official source without penalty or disqualification provided that it does not improve their competitive position.
- Any assistance from family, supporters, friends or coaches to hand off eyeglasses, towels, etc., after the swim section, is NOT allowed. Additional equipment needed should be left previously at the transition area.
- The use of snorkels is prohibited.
- Swimming buoys are allowed, but the participants MUST position themselves at the back of their respective wave, to start the race.
BIKE SECTION:
- Athletes are responsible (must make sure) that their bikes are safe and in top conditions to use for the bike section.
- Obey traffic regulations and instructions from race officials/marshals/volunteers/rescue and public authorities.
- Due to the heat, it is highly recommended that all competitors carry a minimum of one water bottle.
- To participate in Pattana Triathlon, you will need to have a triathlon or road race bike. Road bikes fixed with triathlete’s handlebars (also called aero bars) are accepted.
- Wheels size 700 or 650cc ONLY.
- Bicycle specific hard-shell helmet. You must wear your helmet and must be securely fastened leaving the transition zone and for the whole duration of the race, never take it off while riding, even during ascents, if you walk a portion and regardless of the weather. Any athlete seen riding without an approved helmet will be immediately disqualified.
- The following equipment are forbidden:
- Bottles/cans made of non-deformable material (glass, aluminium…)
- Headphones, headsets, iPods, MP3 players or similar music devices.
- No use of communication devices of any type, including cell phones, smartwatches, and two-way radios, in any distractive manner during the Race. A “distractive manner” includes playing music, using social media, and taking photographs. Using a communication device in a distractive manner during the Race will result in disqualification.
- To race with a cellular phone will be allowed, ONLY in the case that is been used to measure the speed, distance etc. (to replace the bike computer). It must be mounted in the handlebars on the bike section. In the running section, it should be kept in a pocket NOT in the hand.
- Cameras, phone cameras, and video cameras are prohibited unless permission is given by the race director.
- This is a NOT DRAFTING RACE. Participants must keep 7 meters (~4 bike lengths) of clear space between you and the cyclist in front. If you move into the drafting zone, pass within 15 seconds. Failure to do so will result in a drafting violation.
- There will be draft marshals on the course. They all will have a whistle and be ready to intervene if drafting is taking place.
- The penalties for drafting are:
- 1st offence, a warning
- 2nd offence Yellow card. The marshal will verbally inform you about the penalty (Yellow card) take your number and inform the organization. A 15 mins penalty will apply.
- 3rd offence, will represent a Red Card offence Disqualification
- We do not tolerate drafting it is cheating: race clean, race professional and do not cheat. This is not a draft legal race and penalties will be given out 5min per penalty at Run start, 3 penalties and you will be DQ’d
- A pass occurs when the overtaking participant’s front wheel passes the leading edge of the athlete being overtaken.
- Overtaking participants may pass on the right for up to 15 seconds but must move back to the left side of the road, after passing. Failure to complete a pass within 15 seconds will result in a drafting violation.
- Participants must ride single file on the left side of the road except when passing another rider, or for reasons of safety. Side-by-side riding is not allowed and will result in a position violation.
- Participants committing rules violations will be notified “on the spot” by an official.
- Do not attempt to discuss the penalty with the official. Follow the DISPUTES PROCEDURE
- The official will blow a whistle and call out your bib number. At this point, you must break up from drafting.
- If you are disqualified, you may finish the bike course but may not start the run.
- Each participant must wear a race number at all times while on the course. Race numbers identify the participants in the race. Folding, cutting the race number, intentional alteration of any kind or failure to wear the race number so that it is purely visible is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
- While there will be traffic control on the bike course, it may be impossible to close the roads for the complete duration of the event. Therefore, at all times during the race, participants should assume that cars may be on the road and take all necessary safety precautions.
- Participants are advised to take extreme care on all turns and in areas where there are driveways or access roads.
BIKE SPECIFICATION
- To participate in this race, you will need to have a triathlon or road-racing bike (wheels size 700 or 650cc) and a bicycle-specific hard-shell helmet.
- Road bikes fixed with triathlete’s handlebars (also called aero bars) are accepted.
- ONLY Triathlon or road bike (wheels size 700 or 650cc)
- The following bicycles are forbidden:
- Mountain MTB,
- foldable,
- urban/hybrid/city,
- Friday,
- Moulton,
- fix gear bikes,
- fixie,
- fat,
- recumbent,
- tandems
- Others bikes not specific triathlon or road bikes Are NOT allowed to participate in the race.
- Non-traditional or unusual bikes are illegal unless prior to the start of the race, approval has been granted by the Race Director.
FINISH LINE CONDUCT
- Friends, family members, supporters, private photographers (non-officials) and/or other spectators are not permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating contestants. (Please note: The Organizer desires for each athlete to be able to celebrate his/her accomplishment without risking the safety of other event participants, volunteers, and/or spectators).
- Supporters of the participants who choose not to respect the finish line policy should be warned to stay completely clear of all racers that they support/cheered, to avoid the disqualification of a participant.
DISQUALIFICATION:
- A participant for severe rule violations, but not limited to, repeated rule violations, disregard for directives given by race officers, marshals, volunteers, medical staff, public authorities, Race Director and race Control on dangerous or unsportsmanlike conduct;
- Disqualified Participants will not be eligible for any neither timing splits nor race results.
RUNNING SECTION:
- Participants must wear race numbers at all times while on the course. Race number must be placed on the front where it is clearly visible. Folding, cutting race number, intentional alteration of any kind or failure to wear race numbers is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification.
- The participant’s torso must be covered all time. Half Zip opens it is all right. Any athlete without TOP will result in a DNF (Did not finish).
- Individual support vehicles or non-participant escort runners are NOT allowed and will result in disqualification of the participant. A non-participant escort runner includes participants who have withdrawn from the race, have been disqualified or have finished the race.
- Friends, family members, private photographers, coaches or supporters of any type may not bike, drive or run alongside participants, may not pass food or other items to participants and should be warned to stay completely clear of all racers, to avoid the disqualification of a participant.
- It is mandatory upon each participant to immediately reject any attempt to assist, follow or escort.
- It is acceptable for a participant who is still competing to run with other participants, who are still competing.
- Participants are expected to follow the direction and instruction of all race officials, marshals, volunteers and public authorities.
- Participants committing rules violations will be notified “on the spot” by an official.
- Do not attempt to discuss the penalty with the official. Follow the DISPUTES PROCEDURE
ILLEGAL EQUIPMENT
- Participants may not use communication devices of any type, including cell phones, smartwatches, and two-way radios, in any distractive manner during the Race. A “distractive manner” includes playing music, using social media, and taking photographs. Using a communication device in a distractive manner during the race will result in disqualification.
- Cameras, phone cameras, and video cameras are prohibited unless permission is given by the race director.
TRANSITION AREA CONDUCT
- The setting of the bike and equipment at the transition zone will be exclusive by the participant.
- The participants will be able to set their bikes and equipment at the transition zone, exclusive the following dates and time according to the race scheduled.
- Friends, family members, private photographers, coaches or supporters of any type are NOT allowed in the transition zone.
- Bicycles must be packed according to the directions of the preassigned number.
- Each participant’s equipment must be placed either in the participant’s transition bags, on the participant’s bike, or in the designated transition spot.
- Participants must not interfere with another athlete’s equipment in the transition area.
- Participants must not impede the progress of other participants in the transition area.
- A mount and dismount line will be clearly designated at the entrance and exit of the transition area. Mounting the bike before the designated mount-line is prohibited. Dismounting after the dismount line is prohibited.
- Participants cannot stop in the flow zones of the transition area.
- Public nudity or indecent exposure is prohibited and the participant will be disqualified (DSQ)
- ONLY the Participants (well identify) are allowed to collect their bike and equipment from the transition zone, ONLY at the time indicated by the race schedule.
DISPUTES PROCEDURE
- Only the racer/participant “The Protester”, is allowed to present a protest form to the Race Control.
- In the case of a team, only the captain of the team is allowed to file a protest.
- A protest is a formal complaint against the conduct of a fellow athlete, race official, or against conditions of the competition.
- Protests must be filed up the form at the race control, signed by the Protester and submitted to the race control, within 30 minutes of the event ending (or your category/distance finish) or withdrawing from the race.
- Race Protest process:
- To submit a protest form, you must have substantial evidence, including witnesses and you must be willing to take part in an interview.
- Protests form must be filled,
- All protests will result in between 30 minutes, upon receiving the complete Protest Form.
- Final decision will be made by the Race Director.
There will be no appeal, once the decision has been made.
CANCELATION POLICIES:
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule the event, as they deem fit for the safety of the participant and/or to prevent any potential hazards (inclement weather, emergency, natural disaster, political situations, etc.) in the running of the event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant.
In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the day/date of the event. The Organizers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
REFUND POLICY
Entry fees are non-refundable. Entry fees are non-transferable to another competitor. In the event of cancellation, there will be no refund of entry or processing fees.
